Microfluidic toolbox for direct viral RNA detection

Together with collaborators, we developed a microfluidic workflow combining padlock probes with rolling-circle amplification for direct viral RNA detection and genotyping. Demonstrated with SARS-CoV-2 RNA, the method can distinguish variant-associated single-nucleotide changes without reverse transcription.
