My research focus lies in the field of developmental neuroscience, where I study in vitro models and assays for neurological disorders using 3D brain organoids as well as compound screening approaches. We investigate the potential of organoids as alternatives to animal models in profiling and mechanistic approaches. We use padlock based in situ transcriptomics together with functional assays to uncover mechanisms of compounds acting on the brain as well as high throughput screening methods to aid in drug discovery and mechanism of action.
